Ejecting capsule for commercial planes will save crew and passengers in a crash

Would you pay additional for a flight that guarantees you safety in case of onboard fire, engine failure or any kind of in-air technical problems? Ukrainian aviation engineer Vladimir Tatarenko believes all onboard passengers can survive a plane crash if one day his invention of a life saving capsule can see light of day, but there’s only one condition, the flight costs will increase. Tatarenko has been working and patented a rescue container for commercial aircraft crew and passengers, which can eject out of the rear hatch of the plane, saving lives of everyone onboard.

Tatarenko’s innovation is not a day’s work; he has reached his creation of an ejecting capsule after thoroughly analyzing various accident scenes. Explaining the hard work that has gone into conceptualizing the idea, Tatarenko told Ukrainian e-zine,

Looking at these horrible scenes and knowing the statistics of crashes I came to certain conclusions. People are wrong about air disasters, because some 80% of them happen due to human error.

Tatarenko’s concept envisions a carbon fiber capsule fitted inside the aircraft’s fuselage. The lightweight, carbon fiber capsule is installed with the seats for passengers and crew. On slightest signal of an emergency, the capsule, in matter of seconds, ejects through the rear hatch of the aircraft. Being attached to high power parachutes and powered by two gunpowder engines, the safety capsule then descends down to the ground in complete safety.

If something like the escape capsule can be readied, many a lives can be saved for sure. But according to Tatarenko mass production of the escape capsule is still years away since it involves huge investments.
