Inflation in Ukraine slowdowns to 0,9%
The inflation rate on the consumer market in Ukraine was 0,9% compared with the previous month, from the beginning of the year it was 2,4%. Ukraine’s Statistics Service reported this on March 7.
Besides, the core inflation compared with the previous month was 0,6% in February and 1,3% from the beginning of the year.
Consumer prices on food and soft drinks went up by 0,1%. Prices on fruits increased the most – by 6,8%. Prices on beef, fish and fish products, dairy, bread, vegetables, pasta, sour cream and cheese increased by 2,6 - 1,0%. Meanwhile, buckwheat, poultry, eggs, pork and sugar are now cheaper by 3,2% – 0,7%.
Prices on spirits and tobacco products grew by 1,4%: tobacco products - by 1,4%, spirits – by 0,7%.
Cost rose for dwellings, water, electricity, gas and other fuel types by 0,4% because house maintenance tariffs increased by 2,2%, water tariffs – by 2,1%, costs for sewerage went up by 1,7%, for rent – by 0,8%.
Due to the increase of travel costs by 2,7%, prices on fuel and oil - by 2,2%, prices on transport rose by 1,5% in total.
Earlier, we reported that the inflation rate in Ukraine was 1,5% in January of 2018, compared with the previous months, when it was 1%.
