American company to modernize locomotives of Ukrainian Railways

The Ukrainian government finished negotiations with American company General Electric Transportation as to the programme of renovating the locomotives of Ukrainian Railways, according to the statement on the governmental website.

It is expected that the agreement on strategic 7-year partnership will be signed before the end of 2017. In the framework of this cooperation, the usage of Ukraine’s capacity should grow by 40%.

Moreover, the agreement foresees that the manufactured in Ukraine parts that correspond to GE’s standards will be used in other projects of the company in other countries.

GE Transportation also confirmed their readiness to distribute technologies, conduct training, and work on the possibility of access to loan sources in the framework of cooperation.
