Pentagon asks White House to send Javelin anti-tank missiles to Ukraine
The Pentagon sent an official recommendation to the White House on sending Javelin anti-tank missiles to Ukraine, to aid in the fight against Russian aggression, as three US officials told NBC.
“The officials said a proposed aid package includes Javelin anti-tank missiles with an estimated cost of about $50 million,” the media informs.
While the officials emphasized that the US administration hasn’t reached a final decision on the issue, the Pentagon strongly supports such actions.
As it was reported earlier, the Pentagon proposed a plan on providing Ukraine with weapons. American military officials and diplomats say the arms, which they characterized as defensive, are meant to deter aggressive actions by Moscow, which has given tanks and other arms to separatists battling Ukrainian government forces.
