Russia does not return to G7 until Ukraine’s sovereignty is restored, — Tillerson
United States Secretary of State Rex Tillerson confirmed position of United States and other G7 members that Russia’s return to this group is possible only after Moscow restores sovereignty of Ukraine. Tillerson said this to journalists in presidential plane on the way to Brussels, according to Radio Svoboda.
"Russia was ejected from the group due to situation in Ukraine. Thus, in order to return, it has to solve Ukrainian issue. We have made it clear for Russia, this means progress with implementation of Minsk agreement, and adherence, restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty," Rex Tillerson noted.
Secretary of State also added that he does not expect Russia to return until all the terms would be fulfilled, until there is an agreement on how to deal with situation in Ukraine and it would be accepted by Ukrainians themselves and all G7 member states.
