In California, "Nova Ukraine" held a traditional Ukrainian picnic (photos)

This Saturday, July 11, Nova Ukraine charity held a traditional Ukrainian celebration - "Ukrainian Summer Picnic".

The purpose was to bring local Ukrainian diaspora together and remember our traditions. Event was held at a private house in Mountain View, California and attended by more than 150 Ukrainians. Guests were pulled into the atmosphere of Ukrainian customs , were reminded the taste of national food and learned about Ukrainian summer rites and networked with their patriot friends.

Nova Ukraine also collected donations to build a kids camp "Lisova Zastava" for kids of refugees near Kyiv. We thank every person who attended our picnic, and are extremely grateful to those who donated or took part in our charity auction. We collected $1138 in total and we will report back as soon as Lisova Zastava will get all this money.

We want to thank our hosts again, Orest and Valentina Baidan thanks, for your hospitality and opening your doors to welcome so many people, who, while far away, remain sympathetic to the Ukrainian cause.
