White House evacuated by security staff in middle of press briefing
THE press room of the White House has been evacuated, it's been reported, informs UaPost with reference to express.co.uk.
Security teams cleared out the room in the middle of a daily briefing for journalists.
Live television footage is understood to show dogs checking the empty room in the White House in Washington DC.
The journalists and administration staff were escorted across the street.
The briefing was being carried out by White House press secretary Josh Earnest.
No reason has been given for the action.
News agency AP said evacuations are rare in the White House but not unprecedented.
Earlier today, US authorities revealed a bomb threat was made concerning two Senate buildings. There were also reports of suspect packages but nothing hazardous was found.
