US Senators are preparing a resolution due to the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea

American Democrat from New Jersey Robert Menendez has introduced a draft resolution calling for US President Donald Trump’s Administration not to ease the sanctions against Russia until the Minsk Accords are fully implemented.

It is stated on the website of the Senator.

The resolution, introduced at the third anniversary of the annexation of Crimea, expresses concern about the Russian aggression and thatRussian President Vladimir Putin continues to support the separatists in the East of Ukraine.

“This bipartisan resolution sends a powerful and explicit message of solidarity with the people of Ukraine, condemnation of Putin’s actions and hesitancy of the Trump Administration… Regardless of the political winds in the United States, we must ensure the sanctions, in the same way as before, to remain the most powerful and peaceful lever of our diplomatic arsenal,” said Menendez.

The resolution condemns the continued Russian military intervention in Ukraine and confirms that the anti Russian sanctions imposed for the destabilization of international order in the Eastern Europe should not be lifted until Russia starts adhering to all the conditions of the Minsk Accords.
